Hi! I’m Kei, the founder, researcher and visual tools designer of Virtues & Art.
I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration (Marketing), a Master of Nursing Science (MNSc), and a Certificate in TESOL. I am also a certified Therapeutic Art Life Coach.
How Art Became My Inner Compass
Art has always been a powerful force in my life. For as long as I can remember, I searched for artwork that could resonate with me on a deep emotional, spiritual, and intellectual level—something that could nourish me from the inside.
There was a season when I felt emotionally fragile, when words felt distant. During that time, I longed for visuals that could strengthen me, shift my perspectives, and help me break through my cognitive–emotional ceilings. But I couldn’t find visual designs that spoke with emotional and spiritual intelligence.
Turning Inward and Creating What I Needed
So, I turned to my own creativity and began drawing the visuals I needed.
What started as personal self-support gradually became something more, especially when I began sharing my drawings online.
To my surprise and delight, others found clarity, restoration, and meaning in them.
And that’s how Virtues & Art was born.
The Discovery: Art as a Cognitive–Emotional Tool
As the project grew, so did my curiosity. I began researching the effects of art and imagery on human cognitive-emotional development. I discovered that art and imagery have always been used as cognitive-emotional tools in humanity throughout history.
Different cultures used them in different forms:
Ancient Japan — Shigajiku
Zen practitioners paired visuals with curated phrases to pass on wisdom and cultivate refined cognitive-emotional insight.
Ancient Chinese Philosophy — Sun Tzu’s Imagery
In The Art of War, Sun Tzu used vivid metaphors to transmit nuanced emotional and strategic wisdom beyond literal language.
Modern Healthcare — Guided Imagery
Some clinicians and psychotherapists use intentional imagery to help people relax, regulate physiology, and increase resilience.
Psychology — Cognitive Restructuring & Imagery Rescripting
Scientific literature shows how healthy imagery can rebuild cognitive pathways, improve self-narrative, and restore emotional stability.
Personal Breakthroughs Through Imagery
One of my favorite evidence-informed practices is imagery rescripting.
We all carry mental images—some healthy, some unhealthy, some inherited without our awareness.
Left unattended, unhealthy imagery influences our performance, potential, self-esteem, and inner narrative.
In my own life, imagery rescripting has brought profound breakthroughs.
These experiences strengthened my insight that imagery is one of the most direct pathways to cognitive–emotional change.
The Soul of Virtues & Art
All of this—ancient traditions, scientific research, and personal experience, deepened my conviction that:
Art and imagery are not JUST decorations.
They are cognitive-emotional interventions.
They are tools for healing, clarity, and cognitive strength.
The purpose of Virtues & Art, thus, is to design intuitive and accessible art-based cognitive tools that empower anyone—across all backgrounds, professions, and languages—to access emotional clarity, build cognitive resilience, and expand their human potential.
